Brushed Leather and Lug Soles

Brushed calf is polished to a hard, almost glassy finish, which is what gives these their shine straight out of the box. It also scuffs more visibly than a matte grain, so a boot that will see pavement every day is better bought in the grained or lug-soled versions. The lug sole adds roughly three centimetres before you account for the heel.
